Egyptian Korean negotiations concerning available investment opportunities in MTS

Transport minister, Hani Dahi met with Southern Korean government delegation and maritime transport sector (MTS) representatives in addition to a number of Southern Korean companies desiring for investment in the field of maritime transport and vessels construction in Egypt.

   Also the meeting was attended by United Arab Emirates delegation, investment minister consultant and maritime transport consultant.  

  The transport minister declared that the meeting has witnessed discussion of joint cooperation opportunities for pumping investment in MTS in cooperation with Emirates party, also through benefiting from experiences and modern technology in South Korea in the field of ports, vessel construction and maritime quays designs.  

 The minister again displayed in front of both delegations the importance of the national project of developing Suez Canal corridor, under the sponsorship of president ElSisi and the project’s achieved steps and the undergoing projects in the fields of roads, bridges, tunnels, railways and Egyptian ports and maritime transport development plans, this through a presentation of Egyptian ports capabilities and ways of making use of and investing opportunities.

 The minister also welcomed triple cooperation between Egypt, Emirates and South Korea assuring Egypt’s promising   capabilities and investment opportunities whereas the Korean party showed complete support supply to maritime transport projects in Egypt assuring its readiness to provide with all experiences, technology, capabilities and study and training programs through which Egypt’s maritime transport system can be enhanced and developed.  

   The meeting concluded with an agreed arrangement for the Emirates and Korean delegations visit to ElSukhna port and a visit in the next day to Alexandria port authority in order to debate joint future cooperation framework and investment opportunities in Egypt’s maritime transport sector
